Sponsor a Child
Many children in Ethiopia face steep barriers to education. Without the necessary uniform and textbooks, some children cannot attend school. Additionally, family responsibilities often pull them into work at a young age to support income generation. You can help lower these barriers by sponsoring a child.
We believe that an integrated approach is the most effective way to sustainably end poverty. That is why this program takes a multi-faceted approach to meet school needs, medical needs, and provide broader family support. While children are supported, their families will also have access to programs aimed at strengthening the family, such as health education and income-generating training.
The children were selected for the program based on family income, orphan status, and a host of other factors. Many are the “poorest of the poor” and without one or both parents.

An Orphan Becomes A Leader
Mamush was orphaned before his first birthday. As a child, he dreamt of going to college, and walked two hours each way to attend school, selling beans to pay for his uniform. When he was no longer able to afford food, he stopped his schooling at Grade 10. Today, he is passionately committed to providing access to education for the children in his community, and hopes to complete his own college-level degree. Mamush is an enthusiastic young leader in his local church and is working closely with Three Roots on the vision for the well-being of his community. |
