Last month our Ethiopia staff team participated in their first quarterly staff retreat for a time of refreshment and connection. These retreats provided critical refreshment, encouragement, and connection, during a challenging time in Ethiopia. In addition to their full-time duties, our staff are battling rising costs, gas lines of 3-5 hours, and frequent power cuts.
While together, the team reflected on the mission and motivation that grounds us in our work, as we strive to see each person live in their God-given freedom and identity. A trusted friend and colleague, from World Relief, provided the devotional and key message, and the team prayed together. Mekdes, our Monitoring and Evaluation Officer shared, “It was an eye-opening session that helped us to grow spiritually and carry out our roles and responsibilities as we are working for good and for God's praise.” Thank you for making this day possible through your support. We believe that caring for our staff is critically important, as they serve on the front lines of extreme poverty and suffering. Together, we are strengthened for this work.
