Ababu is a grandmother and matriarch of her community. Prior to joining our care group program, she was thrust back into motherhood, taking in her 5 grandchildren. Tragically, her young daughter-in-law passed away during childbirth along with her baby. 

Now, Ababu is a Care Group member where she is learning about maternal health, childhood nutrition, and sanitation practices that help prevent disease - for the first time. She’s committed to raising healthy grandchildren with this knowledge. Although she and her daughter-in-law didn’t have access to this information, the next generation will. 

Your generosity is essential to ensure other women in critical need have access to life-changing information. Right now, 960 women desperately need to know that maternal and infant mortality do not have to be commonplace. They need to know that they have support and options during their most vulnerable time, especially childbirth.
